Hello everyone! First off, I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe! If you’re anything like me, you are using this time to enjoy your family more, get organized, shop a little too much, cook a lot and learn new recipes. I have tried to see the silver lining in this situation so I don’t go too crazy. I have to remember to count my blessings. As I am writing this I have my beautiful 10 week old daughter next to me and that alone is the biggest blessing God has ever given me. I am trying to remember to slow down and enjoy every second with her because she’s only little for so long.

I am very blessed to be able to work from home right now so I have still been working a lot. I have been filling online orders each day (remember FREE shipping on all orders over $40 until at least May 3rd), just taught an Online French Macaron Class on Sunday (which is still on sale for only $15 until this weekend), and am working on free tutorials plus future classes. Stay tuned for a lot of fun classes coming your way and let me know if you have any specific class in mind that you’re interested in. Staying busy has always been a great way for me to cope during stressful times.

I have also been trying to organize everything in my house, especially my baking stuff. I have had everything needed to organize for months but I am always way too busy to do that, at least in my head it’s usually my last priority. So this has been a great feeling to finally get organized in my new house. Although, it’s still a work in progress!

As most of you know, I recently moved to Florida this past October so I am still getting used to the weather here and seeing the sun on a daily basis. Now that I am losing most of my baby weight, I am shopping for summer clothes and too many bathing suits for my daughter! I have also been adding some fun kitchen essentials to my kitchen and more. Speaking of kitchen essentials, I have been working on a MEGA baking essentials guide for you guys. It will include my favorite baking items and must haves. Some are items we sell and some are not but I will tell you where I got these items from. I often post a rolling pin or digital scale and get so many questions on where to find these items I don’t sell so I am putting all of this info together in one. I’ll keep you posted once it’s completed!

I’ve been encouraging my friends, family & followers to use this time to work on something that is important to themselves. For me, it is working on my business and my new vision for it. I have been in business for over 6 years but my life is so different now vs. that 21 year old girl that I was when I started with my original store in San Bruno. I have relocated across the country, I have had a baby, I don’t have an actual brick and mortar store right now and I’ve realized you should never stop learning. I have been adapting to these new changes and also want to adapt my business. I have decided to start doing a lot more online classes, I have been working on sharing more free tutorials, I have been working on some fun new products and so much more to come! I also want to start incorporating my new mom life into my social media, meaning I want to start sharing more of my personal life and mom journey with you guys. I am interested in sharing my favorite dinner recipes, baby products, mom/baby activities and more. I think as moms, we can all relate and support each other more than I ever knew. This is a hard idea for me because in all of my business classes in college, I was always taught to separate business and personal. However, in today’s day and age I don’t think that’s necessary. I think people like to get to know the people they’re buying from, learning from and following! What do you guys think? I have also met some of my closest friends through my business so I think I would like to open up more on social media, depending on what you guys want to see!

Another thing I have been doing is taking a couple online classes. I recently took a cheesecake stuffed caramel apple class by Monique Saunders from @myuniquesweets and Oh. Em. Gee. They were so delicious and it became dangerous to have them in the house because I couldn’t stop eating them and trust me when I say, I am not normally a huge dessert person. I also signed up for a Brand Building class with Jeromie from @iamkakeking and I am so excited for this class. It isn’t about cakes or recipes but about building your company or brand and all the behind the scenes kind of stuff! I am excited for his knowledge and the motivation that I believe will come from this class. I have been teaching dessert classes for almost 7 years now but I forgot how much I love taking classes too! There is no better time than the present to start working on our skills and businesses so that when life goes back to normal, we are ready to go full throttle!

Okay, well I think that’s enough of a wrap up from my life. I would love to hear from you guys! What are you doing differently during quarantine as opposed to “normal life”? How is homeschooling going? Who is drinking more at night? Are you taking this time to learn something new or get organized? Leave me a comment because I’d love to hear more from you!

Happy baking & quarantine-ing,

Nicole (& Ashley, my mini me!)

P.S. I believe I will be doing these posts a lot more so stay tuned! And here is my writing buddy, always keeping me company!
